Here's the beginning of my newest build. ( third build)
So far I've glued the back with tropical epoxy and scraped them. Proformaxed the sides to 90.

The cutaway is new for me so I'm excited to see how that gos together.
Haven't decided on neck yet, I'm thinking maple with Purple Heart. Carbon fiber will stretch into the body all the way under the finger board.

Bent the sides today. Sanded the top to 150. Laminated a neck. Maple flamed hard rock ,outside and middle. On either side of the center maple two stringers of Purple Heart. 14 fret hope that made since .

So the neck is laminated.
Sides are bent.

red spruce braces cut and ready . Decided to double x brace,so i had to re engineer the insides. moved the top one up 1/2 inch and put the bottom one that would not be in the way of the pegs. took one tone bar out added a finger brace on the other side. Hope that made since. sanded edges of the side to the correct angles.

Interesting bracing. Do you still have to shave the braces in the last pic? If not, it looks way over braced in my opinion. You can take off quite a bit of the meat on those to loosen and open her up. She looks good so far though!

Chris, yes the braces haven't been shaved in that pic just first shaping with the edge sander. I haven't been to the shop for a week stuck in the day job.

Looking good, Jeff!
I wish I had the skills to make an acoustic.
I'm still reading books and the postings here.
I need to improve my woodworking skills and learn how to use hand tools.
Gonna look sweet shined up!
I dig the Ebony.
Dan

Should be starting the finish tomorrow. To many days off are hard on the novice builder.
