Fret files

First of all thanks alot for your replies and welcome. That was a great link and my problems pretty squarely fall under the uneven fret category.
I have low frets top E and B string around fret 3-7. Too much blues in A! Any previous fret work I have tackled has been with various grades of  wet and dry paper and a flat as you suggest. This worked well as it was nice and slow. But how to get rid of the flat fret tops after?
I am prettysure the truss rod adj is fine.

It will file the fret to round from the sides inward Stop when you have a very fine thin at the center of the fret .005" or less. Then you need just to polish them out. This is called dressing the fret.

If access to a crowning/dressing file is a problem where you're located, a square or rectangular or triangle shaped file can be used after you smooth off the corners of the file to prevent damaging the fretboard. Here's a pic from frets.com. Notice the rounded areas on the edges, not just at the end.

Use it the same way Michael described above, only you have to file on each side of each fret.

Good luck!
