This is an SJ for my son. He graduates college tomorrow. Warren help me build the side bender for this guitar. He's checked the shop regularly to see it still on the shelf. Lately he's been too busy to look.

It won't be completely ready by tomorrow, but it won't be long now. Sorry for the pic quality. I'll take some nice ones later. Luthier's like this sort of thing. What's in your booth?

This is premium Indian Rosewood from LMI, maple bindings a gift from Bob Steidl. A cedar top from Ed Dicks. The bracing is Adirondack with a black walnut bridge plate. This guitar will get a set of K and K's triple bridgeplate pickups.

I decided to try epoxy fill again. It worked very well, but not perfect. I should have done at least one more coat. I did an alcohol wipe, to level the surface while still workable. I believe that step removed epoxy from many pores in the rosewood. But I'll sure try again, because it was a marked improvement over other past attempts to pore fill.

Well it's not in a booth, but it'll be ready for French polishing when I sand off this pore filler. That's Hibdon granadillo under there.

IF you look closely folks, the explosion proof fan is indeed in picture number three.

See the orange air hose on the lower right? The green thing on the lower left is an explosion proof fan and part of one aluminum blade is showing too.

Anyone remember TG&Y? It's a defunct five and dime store. The fan in the window is twenty-five years old it's a TG&Y brand with three speeds. I set it on high. The booth is a Sony big screen TV box held in place with two by four spruce framing. Works, that's all I can say.

Three jumbo acoustics (one is a bari), two Model 1 electrics, six Renaissance semi-hollows, about six or seven Ribbecke Halflings and even more Dean American mades, four or five ukes, uhhh maybe a couple of classicals, etc., etc. Some of that pile is Addam Stark work...

Not a thing but plan to chang that in about 20 days

Sure would like to hear a sound clip of that baritone of yours, Rick.  Would there be anything you might point me to?  I enjoy your work and your posts, but haven't been able to lay hands or ears on one of your guitars.

As a note to the forum in general, sound clips would be a great addition to the info presented here.  I realize that there's a lot of ambiguity in recording methods, equipment, etc, or, in my case, lack of true musical talent.  Just a strum or so would give an idea.

I'm a newb/lurk type here, but at this time I'm expanding my little shop to include building.  All I do now is repairs.  'Fraid I'm hooked tho.

Not in a booth, since I don't have one, but here's a 000 I've been working on forever. Just has first Z-poxy fill coat, will get FP.

Jon, Tony, and Pat, Wow, it's great seeing your creations.

It is just amazing what the human mind can conceive and tenacity to get something done.

My son liked his guitar last evening. He'll like it better of course when it's strung up. I was amazed when measuring the tail of that SJ while looking for a case. It was a full 4 7/8". Dred case from Cedar Creek was all I had it would slide into.

Anyone else?
