Phew!
Thanks.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Yup, gotta say “I’ve missed it”…

I will add that I’ve been getting more projects finished because the OLF has been down -

I thought it was gone for good, and only clicked on my bookmark out of habit today. Great to see it's back online, but sad that it's only for two months.

Lance, please look for cheaper ways to keep the site afloat. All our money has been involuntarily dumped into creating the AI apocalypse (among other things), so it's unlikely we'll be able to keep up with a high bleed rate. Disable on-site image hosting, and make any optimizations you can to the page source size. An old fashioned mostly-text site like this should require next to nothing in terms of bandwidth. Keep old images for posterity, but new posts should use off-site hosting. And start a new "what's happening in your shop" thread since the current one has a ton of images and gets a ton of views.
