This was sold to me as Honduras Mahogany. What do you think?

This one was sprayed with water.
Been thinking of an all Mahogany guitar. I have another set of back plates. Is a jumbo body appropriate or a parlor or should I make a new mold? 00, or 000 or?

Cherry seems like a good guess. Cherry has a fruity smell, and a very smooth feeling texture. Nothing like mahogany.

Here's some more pics of the wood. Hope they're a little clearer. Sorry they're so big.

Definitely not mahogany. Nyatoh is my guess.

That’s a strong guess, John!

Endgrain looks spot on.

But what about the color? Lots greyer, less brown/red than Nyatoh in the database pics. Maybe I'll send a sample to the USDA and see what they say. I'm not holding out for HM but would like to know. I've got plans for a 000 downloaded. Going to the printer tomorrow.
