On a 59 Les Paul.

Now that I've heard it; why is the old music SO much better?

If you are interested in learning more about the player Nethaniel Murphy, check out the interview Rick Beato did with him a few months ago at the Chicago Music Exchange where he works. There are some great examples of his playing mixed in there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74PNzXO6-Gc

you might enjoy Rick Beato on "what happened to music". It's definitely an opinion piece and many won't agree with it, I found it interesting, but I'm old now and wonder the same thing.

I like fairly complex music. I've always liked classical, and progressive rock. Yes, ELP, stuff like that.Spock's Beard is one of my favorite newer bands. I am always blown away though, watching and listening to a great symphony being played. How do you get 100 people together like that?

This is one of my favorites. One of the themes in the first movement sounds like a theme from the movie; Dances With Wolves. Symphony #5 was from 1937, so it came first. After the 1st movement, you are only 20% through it! Do people still take time out to listen to something 45 minutes long.

I do.

Dear Ken,
in the good old times you had to be able to play an instrument to make music. Today most of the music is stupid computer work. Nothing goes over a real handmade piece of music! I have to greatcousins who are extraordinary musicians. Both are members of one of the best orchestras in the world, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. I love classical music too, Bach, Beethoven, Haendel and so on. They have been real geniuses! Today people donĀ“t want or even can not concentrate more than a few minutes on one thing.
