Hi folks,

Let’s be clear, I love buying tools, but I was surprised when I got the below filter from Devilbiss. It’s a whirlwind filter for a spray gun. The package says replace every 10 days. I have to guess that means every 10 days in a busy shop spraying 8 hours a day? Every 10 days if your compressor is spitting out buckets of water?

Anyone have experience with these in a hobbyist setting and if so how did they last?

I bought it because I liked the weight and size of it, especially for spray bursts where you need to angle the gun.

That's pretty cool Brad. I use a SATA mini filter on my mini-jet at the gun in addition to the filters at the compressor. Those ones look like they would fit my gun as well assuming they are 1/4" threads?

That’s right, 1/4” NPT.

I’ll be using it some this weekend and will share how it does. I can’t imagine I would need to swap it out every 10 days, but we will see. I have an air dryer in front of the gun so the only moisture that could be getting to the gun would be created in the hose between the air dryer and the gun (about 10 ft).

Also, I don’t know how you can tell it needs to be replaced other than just counting days / hours of use.
