A builder I follow on instagram @mustcreatethings (give them a follow) shared an inspection light design intended to be 3D printed. I’m into a lot of things but 3D printing is not one of them (yet).

Here is my adapted design for CNC. In true Brad fashion I bought enough of the mirrors and cork pads to make a dozen of them. I’m happy to send to any of my fellow OLFers who will pay the shipping. You would also need to buy the specific flashlight since the setup is friction fit into the plate. PM me.

Love the vid! Totally telesales.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

For the folks that PM’d me, I’m cutting these today. I picked up one of those fancy drag knife things for the CNC. :D

Brad,

I dig your version of this and am stoked to see your interest here!
And good on you for offering to make them for fellow members.
Way to go!

Hi folks, I shipped these out today. I’ll PM you tracking. It’s coming USPS. Inside the box is a QR code to the light on Amazon and an assembly video. Or you can just click here - https://youtu.be/1EicN1ajrDI?si=f8Ib1SbSzaQpxu-K

Image

Each box has the two components for the base, two mirrors (a spare was included) and adhesive backed cork for the base.

Have fun!
