I just made a super simple, quickly put together, and effiicient air filter. I happen to see this video on youtube. I was pretty convinced. I changed a little thing. I simply attached small casters to the bottom with strong rare earth magents. It can be rolled around the shop to where you are working or just rolled out of the way. Works great.

Check out the video...

Nice. One of the few DIY air filters that looks like it will really work.

Great job, Steve! Is it noisy? It reminds me of the Axiom unit I have which is great but annoying to listen to. It’s like working at an airport.

Never mind, I watched the video (duh) sounds about the same as the Axiom. Nice solution!

That's pretty cool for a shop that has room for a unit like that. I really appreciated that he showed particle count readings on a Dylos particle detector to show it was working as intended.

Brad,
It doesn’t seem too loud to me. It has 4 speeds so you can decide how quickly you want to filter the air. Even on high it doesn’t sound like an airport…

The Jet filter hanging from my ceiling makes a lot of noise too so no difference there. It’s hard to move the volume of air we need and not make noise.

Thanks for posting that link Steve,

It looks like it would be pretty effective and easy to make. [:Y:]

I may look into building one. I have a system I built for my shop that works pretty well but this would be great for moving around the shop where you need it.

Cheers,
Bob
