I finally finished this build. I have mentioned it a couple of times during the OLF Roundtable and thought I would share it with you guys. It is based on a Taylor GS Mini, but since it has "me" all over it, I thougt I should call it a "SS Jr." There are some other guitar companies making smaller, "mini" or "Jr." guitars. I'm sure they want to get in on the popularity of the GS Mini. It is a nice "couch guitar" and does sound remarkably full for a small instrument. I think it could hold it's own in a group setting...

That's really a work of art Mr Sollod, nicely done.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Hey Steve, really nice guitar.

And it prompted me to follow along to your web site. A super nice herd of guitars was found there for sure!

That is some really nice spalted maple and I live in spalt maple country. I'm either cutting it, splitting it, burning it, or saying holy crap, way too nice to throw in the stove. Love the rosette!

Thanks for posting!

A real beauty Steve. I see a lot of GS minis they are very popular in our area. As you said great slouch on the couch guitars.

Congratulations Steve!

A guitar after my own heart. Clean, with just a touch of ornamentation. What are the body dimensions? Length/upper bout/lower bout/waist?

Very nice!

Thanks rirhett, I bought the plan from GenOne. I only used the plan for the outline of the top and the side braces…
