Well, the mahogany was a bust. Seller specifically called it "Honduras" mahogany, based on family lore. Well, it was all Philippine mahogany. The quality was decent but suffered from the coarse grain of Philippine. Oh well, at least the trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was worth it.
Pictured is John Lennon's actual Epiphone Casino. Yes, the one he sanded the finish off of and can be seen in the epic Get Back movie. The little tag inside the case says "On Loan from Yoko Ono"
Too many other awesome guitars to mention. Howlin' Wolf's Thin Twin Kay is right next to Mother Maybelle's Gibson. eek

News says we have nothing to worry about. Except the chemicals floating down the Ohio toward our drinking water supply lines. Oh, and the unknown long term effects of the chemicals. Oh, and the complexity that burning them caused. So, you know, nothing. :D

I cannot see the listing on FB marketplace by the way. I searched 200 mile radius of Cleveland. What’s the post title?

It does look like a pretty decent stash. Mahogany is pretty stable. It's the one wood I don't mind using if it's flat sawn.

Looks like a great deal for that price even if it’s flatsawn. The stuff is going for crazy prices at the specialty lumberyards.

That does look like some nice wood. It goes for around $50 cdn a board foot around here right now and not the best stuff. I still have most of a 9' x 8/4 x 14" quartered plank I bought about 15 years ago as well as a few other 4/4 planks. Should be able to get quite a few instruments out of what is left. Or I could sell it to contribute to my retirement! :)

Ok we're all dying to hear the details. Did you end up getting that beautiful stash of Mahogany?

Just got back from 2-1/2 weeks in California. The weather was uncooperative but I can't complain when comparing what folks who live out there are dealing with.
I'm going to check the mahogany out in early April.
I'll post the outcome since you asked about it!
