When I did my first of these bridges around 10 years ago, I didn't follow his method exactly, but found some helpful info in there.

One thing to keep in mind if you use this type of bridge is to be sure you position the pins far enough back that your saddle clears the windings of your preferred strings.
The first time I used this bridge design was for a parlor guitar that I gifted to a friend's son. I had specific strings in mind when designing the bridge and the guitar plays and sounds very nice with those strings, but I did notice after-the-fact that there are a lot of strings out there where the windings wouldn't clear on my design, so that guitar is pretty limited in what strings it can accept.
