There are some presentations that would benefit from the camera being controlled by a helper instead of the presenter, so enlisting a loved one or friend would be a good way to make this sort of thing go better. And some folks have more sophisticated conferencing gear. For example, when I took the two Zoom classes from Robbie O’Brien, Robbie had a multiple camera setup. And some things would benefit from some higher quality photography being done in advance, then shared via Share Screen, rather than trying to show it live via the webcam. My point is that there are ways to keep the limitations of the format from hurting the content.

This is an interesting idea. Things to consider. You will need to protect contact info not provided on OLF. (Phone numbers, email, etc. I suppose same with user names). You should record these, maybe get Lance to create a sub forum, bandwidth permitting. First meeting should just be a meet and greet, then a nomination process for topics to consider in future meetings. Then, stick to a single topic in future meetings. The sub forum should be a place for further discussion of each topic. You will need to choose a presenter for each topic. Time limits are important. Congeniality too! Just my thoughts.

I feel like this needs to be approved by Lance first. If we’re working outside of the OLF then we can rename it Brad’s shindig.

I plan to archive the meetings and share back to the group as the “OLF Roundtable”. I want Lance to at least have visibility to it. It’s his brand.
