Not long ago I thought I was hanging up my building hat. Not much spare time these days. Luckily, I was able to steal enough spare time to make this one. It just took a full year+.... laughing6-hehe I guess that's my new standard timeline for completing an instrument.

Anyway, it's a Koa and German Spruce Auditorium model with fanned frets, armrest, elevated neck, access port, and a bunch of funny shaped and placed holes.

Now onto the next year+ long build project.

That was time well spent, Chris! Gorgeous guitar with so many great details. Nice choice on the koa, too.

That's a real looker Chris.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

I was thinking close to those numbers for my next multi scale.
