I’m not familiar with all the different jigs out being used so this one in the pic is new to me. What is going on in in this pic with this router jig is this some sort of thickness jig?

I think Barry is right. Hopefully there is some sort of hold down (spring loaded?) so the wood doesn't get sucked up into the router bit.

I wouldn't be surprised if that line of holes in the jig aren't spring loaded hold downs. It is actually a pretty clever jig.
