I know something like Zipflex is the obvious easy choice here but the stuff is expensive too. How do you do this? I'm talking about the abalone purfs on the sides, the bottom of the ivoroid binding. Do they actually sell abalone curved in that 3D dimension? Do you just use smaller pieces and crush them in place?

When I started doing abalone purfs on the tops I used Zipflex at first. Then I tried it the 'real' way and was surprised at how easy it actually is, and how fast you can get it done too. I wonder for those who have experience with the side edge if they thing it's fairly easy too.

Regards.
