All the best for 2020 to everyone from the land of Robbie Burns.

"And we'll tak' a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne."

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

I don't know where you are Brad, but we have 6+ hours to go here in Cali. I'll bet it's after midnite in Scotland. Hope everyone has a good 2020!

Not sure if you're much of a whisky man Colin but I'll raise a little nip of ny current dram and wish you a happy new year!

And if you are a whisky man. Current dram is Lagavulin 2017 Distillers edition. Got a bottle of Old Pulteney 21 for this year as well.

And I raised a reasonable nip of Talisker Dark Storm to you last night. [:Y:]

Thanks, Colin. Happy new year to you as well—and to everyone else!

A variety of obstacles limited my workshop time over for the past couple of years, but I'm hoping to build several guitars in 2020. In fact, I'll be closing the box on one today! [:Y:]

Best to all,
