I spray mine with SSII, wrap in brown paper, spray again, then wrap in foil. Let set over night. My only issue with it is that it will lift wood oils, messy. I had one fracture like that (coco), turned out it was due to a pin knot

After pressing Indian rosewood sides sprayed with SS II overnight between paper towels, here's what the paper towels look like. Looks the same for sprayed ziricote. Does a good job of soaking up the oils mobilized by the SS II.

Although we don't find SS2 useful or necessary with cocobolo and other rosewoods, the kraft paper used in the bending stack shows the same sort of resin transfer after bending, which saves a lot of time on what would be a bit if a job cleaning the slats and resin deposits on the surface of the wood.

You were not kidding! I tried it anyway. I soaked it with SS2 over night and took it to the hot pipe. Nothing would save this stuff except for lamination.





I'll tell ya too this shot my nerves. It gave me side bending PTSD or something. I soaked another side set in SS@ and bent it but my nerves were shot expecting it to break in my hands again. It didn't... Whew!

But also honestly I don't think I noticed any reall difference in bending the sides after soaking in SS2 over night. I did what some here suggested. I sprayed the boards good and wrapped them in paper and then sandwiched them between flat plywood and weighted them down with bricks. Next day I stikered them for about an hour to 'dry out' and bent them like I normally would just spritzing with water. I guess I had higher expectations or something. I was thinking the boards would feel like taffy or something. I didn't really notice a difference but I guess it's peace of mind.
