Schaller and Grover are the old "standbys". Rubner is also showing a set.

Did you miss the part about a slotted peghead? The string hole can't be at the end of the post - but in the middle.

Wonderful. I must import a set of tuning machines that cost twice as much as the uke.

I’ e seen plenty of uke tuners on eBay that were two on a plate and had posts for slot heads. Maybe 2 secs of those could be mounted side by side and made to look good?

No. Here is a set of Grover mando tuners I used on a slot head 8 string guitar.

Hi Chris,
I believe I have used Schaller 4 on a plate mando tuners with slot head rollers in the past, but it has been some years back. A couple of other possibilities are small Schaller singles that Stew Mac used to sell for dulcimers (moderately priced) or if you don't mind redrilling the holes and burying the ends with the existing holes, 4 on a plate Chinese imports from eBay (cheap -$8). The Chinese tuners are lower quality but should hold up O.K. for a uke. and they do look nice.

Here is another possibility. I have bought similar mando tuners (solid peghead posts) from them and they are a decent quality and reasonable price.

The Rubners are on sale for $72 and you can get them for slotheads.

Just for the record, Rubner charges the same for "Custom" tuners as the ones they have in stock....

Their prices are extremely reasonable especially considering the quality.

You just have to plan ahead because they take more time-I believe it is 4- 6 weeks.
