hi,

can't remember where on this forum, but it was posted in the comments for glueing a back strap and it works a treat, so thankyou whoever it was.

I think they bought the stuff from stu mac but I found multi-morph mouldable plastic on eBay for £10.

-just put pellets in hot water,
- take out and mold into long flat peice of plastic
-stick a thin bag over headstock (to keep dry)
- push over back of headstock, use thumbs to get it flat to surface and curve
- when set, remove and use blade to cut off the sides that spilled over the edges, to achieve replica of rear shape
- clamp
- crack open a beer
- done

Awesome! I currently use a caul that is close to the shape and put high density foam between that and the veneer. The foam compresses and makes for a nicer fit than my rough caul alone. I like this much better and I already have some sheets of thermoplastic that I can warm up with the heat gun (no water needed) to make a new, better caul. Thanks!

Was this stuff stiff enough that you could clamp right onto it or did you use another flexible caul on top of the molded plastic? Thanks, Bob
