Another stellar style 12 string -this time I tried an old school sunburst with heavily toned bindings.
I just can’t bring myself to "relic" a guitar, so this is as close as I’ve come to doing something that looks old.

The back and sides are flamed red birch
The top is Adirondack red spruce
The neck is poplar
bolt on butt joint neck joint
martin style 2 way rod
Stew Mac tuners
Nitro finish

Looks good Brad,
I have an old Weymann guitar that has a similar sunburst.
I'm not a fan of relick-ing either. I'm sure there are some people who can make it look authentic and fool most of us, but why?

Brad

Lovely lovely instrument. Is it ladder braced? Is your logo an inlay? What colors of dye are in the burst - I have one coming up and like the looks of that one plenty.

The scale is 26-3/8”

I have it tuned to C

I decided to add another ladder brace to this one in front of the bridge patch.

The Stellas had three and the Regals had four like this one. I felt I was getting a little too much deflection in the top on previous ones, so I went to this and I’m really happy I did. it worked out really nice and sounds great.

Yes, It is ladder braced-I just posted a picture in reply to Freemans post.

The logo is a gold colored decal with the vintage amber over it.

I used the medium brown and black for the outside of the burst and vintage amber for the center. There is more black in it than you would think...

I sprayed the outer edges fist then the middle last, which is the opposite of how I did it in the past-I like this way better.

I would not have guessed much black at all. Looks great with the colored birch. Who does your decals? I have used Bedlam with some success

They are by Bedlam. I like them. it usually takes me a few tries to get them on, but I am satisfied with the results.

Here are a couple of pics of a Weymann (Harmony) guitar with a similar burst and some honest finish wear. I think you nailed the old school antique burst vibe with your 12 string.
