I reached out to these folks a while back : https://www.thaliacapos.com/

I was interested in getting some "blanks" and fitting them with side wood cut offs. IIRC, they didn't have an option to deliver the capo and allow someone to put their own inlay. To be honest, I'm not even sure how I would have done it . :)

That being said, they have a large selection and you can probably find one that matches your back and sides already. I have no experience with the quality of their capo's though. :)

TBH, the only capo I ever made myself was this, long time ago.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
