I know it means nothing and I also know how difficult it can be to source good stuff, but Martin - - Investment Grade BRW?

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

I guess that's the new term for flat, or rift to flat sawn.

I may be completely wrong, but isn't that back set generally called stump wood?

Given the legal climate, I wonder how good an investment BRW might be at this point. I'd think the value would go down as trade restrictions mount.

I am surprised Martin didn’t have better stuff.

Martin isn't the one selling this but it is used. With 2019 CITIES coming up there is to be some changes made for personal instruments but I doubt this is investment grade. One can take literary license on ebay as we all well know
