Hi folks, its a pleasure to have so many helpful luthiers willing to advise and share. I have posted the build in the resonators forum
I am getting to the finishing stage of a resonator build. It has African Mahogany back, top and sides, with curly maple binding. I want to fill the Mah with an O'Brien technique of drywall compound and dark tint added. I have used it before on other builds and am happy with the results, but in this case the maple binding needs to be protected to keep it from staining. Do you have any tried and proved ideas out there. I want the crisp contrast of bindings to body. Taping? shellac?
I appreciate the help
thanks
