Hiya,
This is the neck of a `68 Tele bass, the skunk stripe was lifting from the neck so I removed it to see what was going on?
The truss rod was rusted solid and distorted so pushing out the stripe!!

Where's the pic of the neck?
It's certainly not on your Facebook page.

Well I can't find it either!

Better to post any pics directly on here, then people will actually look as they read the post.

Terry, FWIW your link takes me to a Facebook log-in.

Rather than a link it may be easier to- "Full Editor" > Img
and just insert the photo in your post.

I had an old Japanese strat copy a long time ago that had this I think. That had the same problem too, the skunk stripe was protruding a little but when I removed the scratchplate it was all corroded like it had been in water. At the time I thought the water had got inbetween the stripe and the maple and swollen it or something but a build up of rust on a mild steel truss was probably the cause now I read your post. I'll be honest I fixed the faulty solder and sanded the neck then sold it.

I wouldn't mind seeing a pic actually. For pics I use photobucket and paste in an image link for good resolution but the tap talk app lets you do it quick and old folk like me ain't on facethings lol.
