Even if we weren't awesome company (which we are!), just getting to stand in a room with thousands of premium back and side sets (and getting to look through them with the assistance of the staff) is a delight for any guitar maker.

It sounds like Jim is working on getting someone to do a fretwork and or set-up demo.

Al "peebs" and I just roped ourselves into doing a demo of hot pipe vs. bending machine demo. This one will be geared a bit towards beginners or people who haven't done one or the other methods.

We are kicking around a way to have a demo/discussion about some of the various neck joints.

We'd love someone to volunteer to demo doing a sunburst. We keep trying to get this one every year and it never pans out. Anyone want to volunteer?

Joe Mendel is going to do a set up demo , as well as a Top Joining Demo of some sort . I didn't get the exact details on that , but maybe he will chime in as well

The Gateway Area Luthiers Show is a Bolts and Nuts show for Luthiers of ALL Stringed Instruments to get together and show their Finished builds as well as Builds in process . While the General public is welcome , this is a great time for new builders to get some information and see how things are done . We do line up a few Demonstrations for the day . I know I beat this dead horse for months every year so I will just start the reminders now. . .

I fully understand that this is the type of thing that people wait until the last minuet to actually register for. Just know that it is much easier for the organizers if we have an idea (earlier rather than later) of how many we can expect. So please don't forget to register. I haven't looked at the registration log yet but I did see that we already have 4 people paid. This might be a new record for January

Well since I always nag about registering, I figured I would brag a bit. We currently have 10 registered; this is a new record for the first week of the registration link being up! Usually it doesn't get much attention until about a month out. I guess that means my nagging is working

Also, a reminder:
When you register and choose the paypal option, that does not automatically initiate a paypal transaction. That is just there to tell us where to look for the funds (paypal or keep an eye out for a check). You will still need to go to paypal and send the money to the gatewayluthiers@gmail.com address.

Now lets see if we can get another 10 registrants by next week

Sorry to report our strong start has dwindled. No new registrations since my last update. I see people talking about being there in various places but I don't see them on the registration form. I guess I got too cocky with my last update
