Check out the pics I took as we played back the interview. Great fun, a little nerve-wracking.....

Pics were too large to upload, so I just made this page, click below.

To be honest I don't know how to do it. I have a VHS tape of the show. So I tape it off to my digital video camera, then what? Download to the computer and put on my website? I'm guessing, anyone got any ideas. What about format to save in, what should I do?

Tape it onto the DV, line it out to the PC, and reformat to whatever format you've got editing/compression software for. AVI/DivX is the most compact option, MPEG is the most standards compliant.

Bruce

Great news that it went so well, and that your son got to play. I particularly liked the fact that you had some work in progress to show, lets people see that there's more to it than a box with a stick stuck to it! I hope the orders come flooding in, it's nice when the good guys succeed.

What a thrill! You and your son are very brave to have done this. Great job! I, too, would love to see the video.

Best wishes,
Viv

Good one Bruce. It's nice that your son got to be there with you. What a memory that will be years from now.

Put me down on the list of those wanting to see the video too.

Bruce very cool my friend. When things settle a little here and can get back into shop, will start again on Aaron guitar. When I come to Ar. can I get an autograph. Would comment on lookin good on tv, but since I have pink lumber for benches, probably not a good idea, don't want to be taken out of context

Well, the old Dale Carnegie public speaking course came in handy. the secret: "only talk about stuff you are excited and know about" The TV interview was a breeze, especially after teaching school for seven years, gee always lots of eyeballs and ears trained on ya.

Warren did a great job and the memory is very special.

I've had three email inquiries in just over twenty four hours. One of the respondents is a first cousin to Ricky Skaggs here in the NE corner of the state. One Bourgeois dealer in the state was interested in a Dred, and the third had a gifted fifteen year old who he felt deserved a handmade guitar. Who am I to argue.

So, like I said, it was just very special to spend some time with Warren and my wife, Kay. The pancakes and strawberries were great there in North Little Rock, what a great day, lots of fun. And thanks to all of you for your encouraging comments. Maybe this will break the "luthiers vow of poverty", (grin).

Congrats Bruce. That is so cool and I am really happy for your exposure and success. I wish you only the best and hope that this will open many doors for you. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

Well, it's Monday, time to drag out the dustmask and get to work. Thanks for all the kudos, now it's time for the rubber to meet the road, again.

Bruce,

Congratulations! Very cool, and well deserved. Keep us posted on all the commissions you get from it. And I hope that is a lot!

And now you can add the moniker "As seen on TV" to any advertisements you run for your guitars.

Really, really nice, Bruce. I love the shot of you holding the guitar and ogling the back. Classic! Much more of this, though, and you'll be too busy to check in on the OLF!

Wow, great job Bruce! It looks like everything went really well. Did the interview contain any details about your ventures importing rosewood? I bet those local folks had no idea they had an international importer amongst them.

Cheers!

John

John, R U Kidding, I barely had time to mention the guy's stands loaned to me for the show. I didn't get to my hair dresser's add on the back of my shirt: "Mr. Dickey's hair styled by Kosha". Nor did my son get to say "Hi" to his girlfriend or "Love you Mom", either.

Want to hear a funny? My wife was running to the bank, so I asked her to do two things for me. Take Kosha a check for $12 for my haircut and cash a $40 check for tip money at the restaurant afterward.

After she left, I find the check on the counter and call her cell. "Huh? Hey, I can't find your check for Cash?"

Kosha on the other hand was getting a massage at the end of a long day when Kay handed her a folded check and ran out to the bank. Kosha looked at the forty dollar check made out to Cash and thought, "Wow, nice tip, even if they did mispell my name."
