Lovely pair of guitars, Ken. I love how the grain of the blonde top is a little understated. I think it adds to the guitar instead of it being the sole focus of the eye.
The satin black top is no less inviting! I'd be having a really hard time trying to decide between the two.

Thank you very much. Please notice that the two guitars are different. The sizes are different. On the black one the neck joints of the 16th on the blonde one at the 19th

Beautiful and tasty instruments, Ken! I like them both--a lot. I see that the cutaway horns are asymmetrical on each, but the black topped guitar has a very pronounced asymmetry. Nice touch on each of them. I can't pick a favorite. Congratulations!

Beautiful Ken! Based on your previous posts, I assume that these are routed out bodies. It looks like these two have some contours in the backs rather than being flat...

Thanks again everyone. I love posting in this forum to my fellow builders.
These are semi hollow guitars. The top and back are laminated construction. I laminate my own plates from specially sliced veneers. This is the way it was done in the 50s by the G company and a few others. There is a solid block of maple down the center to help to sustain and feedback control.

Hey, Ken,
Would you post a picture that shows your headstock shape? It's very hard to see in these two pictures, but I'd love to see what you came up with there. Congratulations again on some very nice instruments.
Patrick

Here see if this helps it's kind of Art Deco.
More of a New York size.

Wow, Ken, that headstock shape is downright elegant in its simplicity. I really like the narrow flat on the upper end of the truss rod cover, too. It echoes the little "keystone" shape in your tuning head very nicely. Very well done, my friend!
Thanks for posting these follow-up pictures.
Patrick

Let me chime in. I couldn't pick a favorite. Whichever one you give to Hesh give me the other one.

Take them outside and spray with veneer softener. The poplar does not need to be sprayed
