I just finished this Soprano for my daughter. She helped with the build and picked out the woods.
Purpleheart, Engelman Spruce,Bubinga fretbaord and bridge, tortoise shell bindings and low G.

Very nice! The sourh ole is wonderful! That's a nice silky top too. I see you played off the bindings and did turtle shell peghead inlay too ;)

What a great father daughter project, she'll cherrish it always.

That sound-hole looks like some major work, how did you cut it out?
I notice that you used a slanted saddle, was that your idea or was it in the plans?

Bob it actually takes about 15 minutes to cut the sound hole. CA a pattern onto the location and freehand route with a dremel tool, fast and easy. The slanted saddle is for a low "G" wound string. Typically I do slanted for low G and straight for high G.

Ok so a slanted saddle on a Soprano just doesn't really work. It throws the intonation off. Its a good thing my daughter smashed the top in so now I have to replace the top and it will give me a chance to replace the bridge with a straight saddle.
