Some pretty good forum sponsors at the top of the page. It generally seems like you get what you pay for.

Warmoth has pretty good prices on body blanks.
I would find a hardwood place local.

Make your own blanks. Cheaper then buying them.

According to your zip code you're in Hawaii, so I assume there are a very limited number of local hardwood dealers.

If there are any, they should have some type of Mahogany. If you can pick through the stacks and find some decent boards, that would probably be the most economical.

I've been getting mine from ebay. I've paid 40 to 60 bucks for blanks (usually 2 piece). They've worked out well but most charge $20 for shipping.

unless you have an account with allparts you will twice as much for blanks then a cnc cut body...same thing with stew mac....you should always google your zipcode & add hardwood next to it or lumber...call each place & see what they stock..then you'll need a truck to get it home & possibly a jointer & planer to get it to standard thickness...(we talking solid bodies yes?) ..sometimes you can find OK deals on ebay with the correct thickness...just be careful as some of these people are pushing the wrong thickness....there are no GREAT deals on body wood unless you buy it by the board ft. at a local place!

Twice as much for blanks than a cnc cut body? Excuse me, but this is incorrect.
A quick perusal of StewMac's site bears this out.
Body blank

cnc cut body
http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bodies,_necks,_wood/Electric_guitar_shaped_bodies/Golden_Age_63_Body_for_Strat.html

You are in fact paying nearly twice as much for a cnc cut body than you are a body blank.

Same for Allparts

For neck blanks, check out your local Home Depot or Lowes. Ours has maple and mahogany in three inch boards. Make sure to check the grain, though.

Wow your home depot and Lowe's has mahogany? Mine only sell maple, poplar and red oak.

My Home Depot quit selling maple. The idiot there said I could use poplar for neck wood. Got another supplier an hour away. He sells on ebay, a lot of nice woods. I like to go and hand pick my wood. I lucked out early on with a piece of massively figured hard maple I used for tops.
