Hiya All,
As I've been asked to make a custom housing for a P90 soapbar pickup, I'm looking for the correct dimensions of this pickup.
Don't have one laying around I can measure up.
If anyone got the specs of a soapbar p90 and willing to share, that would be fab!
Looking for the corner radius of the pickup and cover, pole piece spacing, pole piece ø, screw spacing, Pickup thickness, cover thickness etc.,etc,...
Respect,
Hilko.

Just drew the pickupcover (rhino 3D). I'm waiting now for my client to send me his artwork.
Quickly added my logo on the pickup. Here are some screenshots

P90's are not all the same size. I would suggest getting one and a properly fitting plastic cover for it before trying to replicate that. If it is going into a routed guitar it will be especially important to match the dimensions of the route and know how much clearance you have to work with. I used to make my body routes very tight to the covers because it looks nice but not so nice when a customer wants to change the pickups and you discover the covers are not a standard size and the baseplates don't always fit the original cover that fits. Nice model !

Thanks for the input!
Yes I've noticed P90's sizes vary that's why I was asking for correct specs. No such thing unfortunately.
Might be a good idea to order a few P90's pickups from different companies (Seymour Duncan, Lollar and Bare Knuckle) and see how much they vary.

I think some variation comes from the injection molding.
See if this helps:

Mfg / Model Width Height Thickness
Duncan P90 3.3 1.28 0.62
Duncan Vintage 3.3 1.28 0.745
Duncan Antiquity 3.365 1.365 0.64
Lollar P90 3.36 1.37 0.63
Gibson P90 3.385 1.39
NEW Lollar P90 3.39 1.39 0.645

spec dims 3.375 1.375

They guy pulled out, never heard from him again.
As I was too curious how good a 3D printer is I ordered my model.
Got it printed in Alumide and it fits great.
A friend lend me a P90 to try on the cover [:Y:]
Here are some shots

What would stuff like this cost?

About 20€ VAT incl. my place is not even 5min. drive from the 3D printing company imaterialize in Belgium. So I don't pay shipping ;)
