Hi Folks,

I probably should have included this question on my last post about pulling frets. Anyway, when pulling frets on a fretboard with finished/unbound edges I expect chipping from fret removal. This guitar has a Urethane finish done by Tony Ferguson. How would you repair these without significant refinishing?

Feather the finish before you pull the frets.
I use sponge pads because the conform to the fret ends.
600-800 works for me.
Then chips if there are any will not be so deep.
Then touch up with French polish after the fretting.

I generally use a burn in fill for these chips as it is quick and gets the instrument off my bench quicker. CA is the another option.
