More glamour shots to come. I love looking at this walnut. Very pretty. I originally intended to have no pickguard, but the man wanted one, so he's getting one. Let me tell you it was sad to drill into that burl top. But it's okay, I've got two more planks just like it :D

A note about the fretboard, it looks strange because there's some extra quarter tone frets added (between frets 1 thru 5 and one between 8-9). First time hand wound pickups, jazz bass style but adjusted to fit this bass as string spacing would be rather off. Controls will be 2 volume, 2 tone, 3 way and optional stereo, similar to Rickenbacker but instead of plugging in a stereo cable in the stereo jack, both jacks are mono. With one jack plugged in, everything goes to that jack, but plugging in the second jack seperates the two pickups and corresponding controls.

So tell me more about the quarter tone frets. How does it work? Is it musical or just abstract? Interesting.

The quarter tone frets are calculated at 24 equal divisions of the octave (EDO) while the normal frets are calculated at 12 divisions of the octave. 19 edo has been becoming polular too. Apparently there's a good bit of baroque music in 19 edo.
