My understanding of CV distance tolerance, is that it controls when the machine goes from CV to exact stop mode based on # of units. Units being described as, step resolution. While testing different settings, I found what works for my machine. Also during those test I played with the plasma mode. It was very interesting what it does. I had some code that was point based in 2.5D. When running in CV only, it was very jerky. When in plasma mode it was more like a metered flow in all axis.

Just my understanding of it and observations. :)

That did the trick perfectly, I set it to look ahead 200 steps and it ran without a hitch. As a result I felt confident to run a test on a body and neck design using some 1/2" plywood that was sitting around. Not only did it do a nice job, after measuring it to verify consistency with the blueprints I found that it was dead on down to the last 0.001" and had a fantastic friction fit in the neck joint. I now feel confident to move forward with the first complete guitar to be cut with this machine. Here are a couple of pictures of how it turned out:

In case the neck looks a tad wide, that's because it is. When built, this guitar will have 8-strings. Part of the reason it's being delayed is that I am just getting started building a CNC pickup winder and active control circuit that will likely outperform the EMG 808's that the client has requested.
