I have not seen any in a while.
I cannot start another guitar until I make a TV stand for my wife.
I need some inspiration!

I've built a V and an Explorer, not as nice as yours.
I like your Ergo shape. I've been trying to plan my next to sit in a classical style too.
I'm considering a jumbo Explorer with a leg cutout or an es-335 style thin body.
Either way, I'm planning on a through-neck.

Not really finished, but just strung up yesterday. KTM maker Grafted Coatings moved so there is a delay in my finish, they are ready to ship again.

The neck is POC center with maple on the sides, carbon fiber running into the headstock. The body wings are 3 layers of pine, 1/4-1 1/4-1/4. String spacing is 1.75 nut, 2.25 string spacing at the saddle. Saddle holds the LR Baggs T bridge inserts. There are holes drilled for magnetics when the time comes. The tailpiece is aluminum angle with gold spray paint, brass would be nice, its day will come. If magnetics do come to this guitar, the tailpiece will be covered with a wood tailpiece that will cover the batteries. The previous version of this guitar got a single EMG 89x to blend with the Baggs, both systems can run on 18volts, loud, clear, diverse
FB is osage orange, received through trade with Ernie, 12-20 radius with Evo frets
I started this one early or I would add it to the Challenge build, as is with pups, tuners and wood, I am at $170

One of my favorite parts of the building process, pore filling (the body) before I spray it with tinted lacquer. Like James Krenov said, "You have to embrace the mundane."

This guitar has 3/4" of POC in the center with 1" of maple on either side with CF, so it is not very POC in the end. I would like to reverse the sandwich and make it lighter with a 3/4 maple center and more POC with CF in it.

Previous guitar had 1" of POC in the center of maple no CF, the little bit lighter is nice, and the TR is pretty easy to turn, but still stiff enough that it stays in tune.

I am not forgetting your POC, I just got a line on a new source that sounds old and figured.

My wife bought me a used Craftsman contrator saw. Looks like the owner beat the throatplate with a hammer.
It broke into four pieces during removal. I'll make a zero-clearance plate today and hopefully whittle her out a TV stand so I can get back on some real (guitar) projects. I still have not figured out why building guitars is so addictive. I'm 54 years old and feel I have wasted most of my life on other hobbies. Keep up the good work!

Have been working hard on the molds for these.
Took my time on neck profiles and depth.
This is a VERY loud full hollow electric!

Unplugged is a BLAST to play. Been playing that depth plugged in for quite a while.
They do well with a low watt tube amp. Blackstar HT20 studio and a Hughs and Kettner Tubemeister 18.

Ran some soundposts with the Bigsby. NOT happy with the breakover angle with the tremolo. So, making a carbon housed tremolo to in crease the angle.

Haven't been here in a while. More of "lurker".

Should note.
Still working on the finish.. Have been brushing/rolling 3 coates of System Three clearcoat to "kill" pinholes. Then have to level the whole thing back to the carbon before I can shoot them.
Doing a "green tribal flame" thing on the one with the Bigsby.

Have 3 glued up and ready. 2 with ebony boards, 1 with carbon/SS frets.
Actually did not like the feel of the glossy carbon board so trying a couple with ebony.
24 3/4 and 25" scales. 15 1/3" wide.

Not a guitar. But it'll be a nice tenor banjo. Still sneaking up on the headstock layout lines.

The rim is seven plies of maple. Five inside plies are common straigt grain, no figure. The two face plies are birdseye, capped below with a nine segment rim of walnut and maple.

I hand-held the camera, so the focus is soft. Detail of the lower rim cap on the banjo pot. Yes, if you look closely, you'll see a bunch of face grain maple plugs where the bracket shoe bolt holes were originally drilled too low. Well, hey, it's not for a customer, and I ain't throwing this pretty wood away. I'll tell the rest of the world I inlaid it that way on purpose!

Pulled some pup covers this morning. Molding sets of 10. (half P-90's and the rest HB's.

I also dig mandolins. This top is glued up, but then winter ended and the humidity rose in my shop. The back is braced, but waiting to close the box after the boiler kicks in and lowers the humidity in the shop.

Nice looking builds EVERYBODY!

Still have a soft spot for V's and X's. First thing I eever built (about 81) was a flying V body for a guy I sold a Tele to. Had an extra Strat neck that went with it so he asked if I would trace my Hamer V and build the body. (I was a diemaker and carpenter),so I did it. This of course led to 4 more bodies in as many weeks.

It was popular back then to assemble "partscasters" from Schecter bodies and necks.

After that I built a doubleneck guitar OVER bass. Laminated the neck to match the Alembic I had at the time. (paid 2900.00 in 79 for the Alambic and sold it 16 years later for,,,2900.00).

That was the extent of my guitar building untill last year.

The carbonfibre builds are very rewarding and impressive sounding. Looking forward to building a few more of these. Making molds for a matching bass. Same body (shallower), with a 34" scale.

Here's some more interesting pics. Don't quite have the white balance correct but close enough for now.

Still need to spray some amber on the bindings and touch up some spots around the neck joint before I move onto the clear. The body is African Mahogany while the neck is Honduran with a center of Wenge & Bubinga.

this is my first build so far, neck through, maple neck, poplar wings, flamed top, rosewood board w/ turquoise inlays. the 12th fret is a lizard if the picture doesn't come through well

Dang! my 6th did not look that good! Cool!
