Just face it Jimmy, your guitar is not so rare or special after all, and you have absolutely NO reason to be proud of it whatsoever, and you shouldn't be posting it on this forum, or even enjoying the build process, it's so unremarkable and common!

Jeez, people!

Let's just relax and enjoy our lives a little! If you don't like Jimmy or his axe just ignore it!

I posted to share my understanding of "Super-Strat"- not to back up or down anybody.

I believe that Chris has an issue with the terminology used to describe the guitar and
I can understand why. There is no clear definition for "super Strat".
Even though I think the guitar may be rightly called a Super Strat it doesn't mean that
another thinking it isn't is wrong.
I was kinda suprised to read that EVHs' "Frankenstrat" was considered one...but oh well.

I didn't address the rarity of the wood as I didn't know.....but I do think it's all about the build
and not a personal attack.

What would really help is if you slotted a 25.5 scale on an ebony blank, radiused it to 14" and inlayed it for me all free of charge.

My first (and only) search.
I don't know if it's rare but they are sure proud of it.

I'd hit that

with some clear lacquer. I bet it would look great!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone, it means a lot. I drilled and set the bridge today and began lining the cavities with copper tape, but ran out of copper tape, I was hoping to start shooting clear today, but it will have to wait.

Jimmy - I love the "revealed" natural binding looks - which is my favorite binding (faux) I'm doing that on the Dreamcatcher - the colors are really coming together - starting to jump!

Thanks Virgil, I knew the colors would blend after shooting them. Where do you get your abalone sheets from? I need to do an inlay and would like something thicker than "0.050

The abalone I used the "dots" with build 3 were from SM... The term "sheets" would probably be in the area of Abalam, which I don't use, but the Paua ab I have used was from DePaul Supply, which I purchased over a year ago...

I knew a clear coat would do that up nice. Looks great, although the burst on the front and back, but the natural sides takes getting used to, at least for me.
Most bursts are either front and back with the darker color of the burst(usually black) more solid on the sides, or burst front with blacked out sides and back. Yours is a different look for me, but I like it.

Clear coat shot a while back ago, but it's really made everything pop. Just have to wait a few days then color sand and shoot a few heavy wet coats and wait some more.

The customer did not want a perfect even burst, he wanted something unique that resembles a shore line with a mix of hues. He actually sent me this picture as a reference.

But it's not like I stated this beforehand or anything, so no offense taken.

Hence the name, "Caribbean Burst". Makes sense!
