Marc Lupien, from XXL guitars (Montreal) is building guitar based on Danelectro, but with real nice solid wood instead of masonite.

Thanks! I was just thinking about these. The first time I've seen one was actually on an electric saz that Trey Spruance plays (which is essentially a saz neck put on a Danelectro).
