Everyone is fine! I lost all the pressure in the brake just before we were going to start going down the winding slick dirt lane down the very steep hill... it could have turned out much worse. for now, the truck is at its owners house, the piano is still in the back. It is remotely possible that I will be able to get the piano this evening. one can hope

I just read the entire build thread on the LP forum. I'm positively inspired. Must find pretty Japanese girls.....

I made my 1st acoustic guitar only using hand tools. I still use them most of the time. I just cut the binding channels on an electric archtop with a chisel. It did'nt take as long as you think. And no noise, no dust, and a little bit of inner self-acomphlishment. As far as gutting out a neck slot or pickup hole. I'd just use a sharp chisel or hand drill. The key is SHARP chisels. You don't need alot of them, I typically only use a 1/4, and a 1/2 flat chisel, and a few curved wood carving chisels for everything. Rasps are really nice for neck work, and draw knifes. Scrapers can take time to figure out. The one electric thing I use is my stereo. I love to listen to music when I work.
