Any rules of thumb for bridge placement on a 25.5 scale length? I always seem to end up sharp and have to max out the saddles. I have double checked fingerboard scale (I have been using Stew Mac pre-slotted finger boards) and they are nut on. I usually set the saddles halfway and center that at 25.5 or 25 for PRS giving me a little wiggle room. It has not been a huge problem in the past because I had been using the Schaller roller bridge, but I'm using TonePros on the last few projects.

P.S. I'm using LSR roller nuts and Earvana compensated nuts.

Stewmac has a fret calculator that gives bridge positions for various bridge types. Very handy.

Thanks for the link, my frets are exactly on and I found the note at the bottom of the calculation

"Distance from the fretboard edge of the nut to center of forward-most mounting screw or pivot post."

I guess this would put a tunomatic style about 3/8 - 1/2 past the magic 25.5 number. I guess I will just float the bridge under tensioned strings to that point and check the intonation.

Nothing worse than spending a week carving a body to find out your bridge posts are off even a fraction of an inch

I have found that the stew mac calculator is not always accurate for all the bridges, mainly with tremolo's. If I were you, I would put the neck on, and make a "dry run" before you drill anything.

I have a very tried and true method. Measure from the nut to the 12th fret, then repeat that, go up 1/4" and place your bridge.
