Well big thanks to turmite he got the rest of it surfaced. I know he used a patch command, but other than that I'm not sure.

I get the basics of what your saying Bob. I'll have to try it to really understand what your saying I suppose, but great advice.

Here is a shot of the bridge...

Hi John,

Actually, I had to get some help to. I tried several different approaches last night and none of them produce a smooth, faired surface. I ask help from a frind of mine and we talked through fixing this model this morning on skype. I came up with the idea to use patch, but he had to use the trim function to get everything to match up. After that a few small lofts and it was done. I can't believe I forgot patch last night since that is the first command I learned in Rhino working on guitars.

So I got these bridges I designed milled out by our own Zlurgh! He did an amazing job. They are so precise and well milled. His service was/is top notch. He responds to e-mails and calls promptly which is a big plus. While his prices are not bottom of the barrel cheap if you want real quality for a fair price I'd strongly suggest you give him a holler. I know I'll be doing more business with him the future.

One technique for refining a surface is to use an intersection with a plane or a curve projected onto the surface to get an interior curve, then edit that curve to your liking (control points) and re-generate the surface using the new curve. This sort of 'intersect and refine' modelling can be really useful in some places in Rhino when you need a visual guide to get the curve just right.

This sounds really powerful but I'm having trouble visualizing it. Can you give a specific example?

Thanks.

PS: John that's about the sexiest bridge I've ever seen. Nice work.

For sure!

It's African Blackwood (my favorite bridge material)

3 minutes with 320 grit paper and all the milling marks vanish!
