Do you use Brazilian Rosewood for fretboards?....and if so....

Do you care if they are flatsawn?.....and....

what would be the typical dimension of an electric fretboard?....

as long as it works.

pretty sure that gibson used to use brazian rosewood on some of the lps and stuff. im just going off the top of my head, but i think that my fretboards are usually about 1.75" at the nut and 2.25 at the heel... i think. i usually just use stewmac boards they are 2.325" wide i think, and leaves just a little extra on the sides for me at the heel. and flatsawn doesnt matter a bit if it looks good to me at least.

Yup, Brazilian is definitely used for electric fingerboards, as well. You didn't think you acoustic guys were the only ones using the good stuff, did you?

Old strats are prized in part because of Brazilian boards, and some old LP's also have em. There are plenty of guys around here who use Brazilian on their electrics. Pretty sure Ziegenfuss is one of them, just to name one off the top of my head.

As for dimensions and cut, flatsawn is great, as is quarter. Probably avoid riftsawn though. I go for 1 11/16 nut width, 2 1/4 at the 24th fret
