Thanks guys !!!

So, at least, I've finished the lacquer.

13 KTM9's coats, one month of drying, then wet sanding 400 to 2000 grit, then the two finest menzerna polishing past with buffing wheels mounted on my drill press and finally swirl remover :

Here is the result, not perfect yet, some d*mn bubbles trapped here and there, maybe my next lacquer will be "default free"... gaah laughing6-hehe ;) :

Voilà, :P

Have a nice sunday afternoon,

See ya,

Hi Ben,

Great to see it nearly finished. I want to thank you for allowing me the privelege of using your drawings for the guitar I built my grandson. After reading Chris's post, I am curious if you used his guitar as inspiration for you design? They are not alike, but they do seem to resemble. Matters not to me how you came up with it, just glad that you did. You and Chris both have "artist" level skills to me.

Mike

Well, I didn't know Chris's guitars two years ago, when I drew the Imago... ;)

But you're right they seem to resemble... and it seems you never create a "true" new design... ;)

Even for my previous one, which was quite original to me, I've found an early 90's yamaha guitar wich resemble a little bit...

Thanks again for your nice comments and your support Mike... :D ;)

Ben it is my pleasure to support you. This has been a fun build to watch, and participate in with the loan of your drawings.

Chris now you really have got my attention. An archtop using that design will be beautiful. Are you doing a build thread about the acoustic you show here?

Mike

Looks great Jojo! I like the pickup covers, and nice job with the finish... definitely one of the cooler guitars I have seen in a while.

And here is the soundclips :

Don't pay attention to the guitar player... :D

Guitar > Marshall DSL401 > Shure SM57 via Shure x2u interface USB > PC > Audacity > .ogg

Clean : Song = La Fleur Artist = -M- , neck, middle, bridge.

http://www.lutherie-amateur.com/jojobilou/Imago/samples/la_fleur.ogg

Crunch : neck, middle, bridge. I've tried to vary the attack, in order to "show" the pickups's dynamic...

http://www.lutherie-amateur.com/jojobilou/Imago/samples/truc_manche.ogg
http://www.lutherie-amateur.com/jojobilou/Imago/samples/truc_intermediaire.ogg
http://www.lutherie-amateur.com/jojobilou/Imago/samples/truc_chevalet.ogg

Overdrive : Song = Macadam Massacre Artist = Bérurier Noir :

http://www.lutherie-amateur.com/jojobilou/Imago/samples/macadam_massacre.ogg

With firefox, the soundclips should play automatically.

At home, on the hifi, the sound is close to the marshall sound... ;)

Have a nice day, see you...

Jojo
