If all you need is a good dimensions to build off of Stewmac's Spec page is dimensioned enough to build from. If you need a cad image of the bridge for futher cad work I can provide it lat this afternoon. Do you want it 2d-3 views dimensioned, 2d 3 views as a block or 3d solid model. 2D would be free, 3D solid model no skins $50

Well what cad system do you use? Skins are not always usable from one software to the next. I can provide a 3d solid model that can be exported to most any software but I really doubt that the skin could be as each software package treats the geometry of shins differently. Some use what is call wrapping where it is kind of like a painted on skin where you have to create a skin map for each face. Mine (AutoCAD 2009) uses 3D solid material properties that assigns jpg image as a material and translates to accommodate each face.

I think there might have been a miscommunication. I was sort of wondering what 'skin' meant, myself, until that last message; texture is the more commonly used term. I'm pretty sure Ken just wants a 3D model he can machine from and modify later if he needs to to change the saddle slot, pin spacing, or do inlay on it. I don't think he's looking for a texture map to go with it to do renderings.

If I'm wrong on this, feel free to disregard. (Also, $50 is a great deal on any custom CAD work, so I think you should jump on it if that's what you're after, Ken!)

Skin maps, texture map, applied material attribute map. Lots of name for the same thing. The real problem is each software package applies these values and mechanically applies them to the model in different ways. There is a given standard for most high end animation software like Pixar uses but for cad packages the creation routine, language and how the software applies the texture to the part is all over the place and seldom importable from one software package to an other unless they are specifically published by the same parent company and intended to work with each other like AutoCAD, Designer and StudioMax. Sins is commonly used name buy home end user programs like Bryce and others. I uded that term because it is well know description in the 3d animation world. AutoCad refers to texture maps and materials these days and a texture map is just one attribute of the material like reflectivity, transparancy and such.

This is exactly what I meant Bob! Thanks for the clarification. When I create my own parts, I have to go back and put a "skin" on it in order to create a *.NC file to cut the part out with. My CAD experience is slow and tedious, so from a business standpoint it makes more sense to pay someone else a reasonable price to do this work for me.

I use my own signature bridge for my own guitars, but I am working on a different project for another customer and this style bridge is needed for that project. I know from my own experience this would take me over 8 hours to accomplish, based on my inexperience with CAD, but would just take a short period from someone that works with it every day.

I have taken Michael's offer, so I now should have something I can work with. Thanks for the responses!
