After receiving two different temp passwords I can log in but when I do log in there are no topics/threads/forums that I can view.

I can't edit my profile, upload an avatar, nada - nothing is working on this end with any browser (Safari, Firefox, IE) on either of two computers (Mac, stinkin PC/VISTA).

But I can without logging in post away so long as I make up a new username with no requirement to register what so ever.

Help please?

Thanks.

Hello Hesh,

I hope someone jumps in to help you solve those problems. :|

For me the second sent password worked. I can log in, edit my profile and post under my old name. System is PC. I have tried both: Explorer 7.0 and Firefox. Everything works for me.

Anyone can help our Heshmaster??

Hesh, did you go and request a new password. Go to the log in page, enter your User Name, and say you forgot your password. They will email it to you. They reset the passwords a while ago, and I got a new one when I requested it. A lot of things are working now that weren't before.

Same here. Got the e-mail(2 of them), logged-in, then can't get into the forum. I'm locked out. So I log-out, and can come post as a guest...

Why is it some of us can, and some can't?

This is most frustrating!

Seems to be a matter of short lifetimes of the new passwords.

Go here http://luthiersforum.com/forum/ucp.php?mode=sendpassword, put in the email you have on record here at OLF, use it to log in, then change your password in your profile right away, or the new password will become invalid soon.

C'mon, for those complaining, a little slack for Brock and Lance. This is a huge transition.

Hesh and all,
Please dont get flustrated. All these issues will get worked out.
Everything is not going to happen at once. Belive it or not, but the developers have been at this since noon yesterday, none stop, they have pulled an all nighter and are still at it.
I ask that you all just hang in there. We will get it worked out.

thanks
This is Lance by the way :)

Burbank, nobody's complaining, just stating fact. It ain't working for some of us. If we all walk away and don't say it like it is, it won't get fixed, right? So don't give me any grief....

It's not the password timing out. I just tried what you suggested, and it didn't work any better.

NFG? Use your imagination <g>

Thanks folks looks like Mario and I have the same issues with the new software.

I have a suggestion. On another forum where I am an admin we use this same software. Permissions for members can be globally set as well as individually set. For example the software can be set up to restrict, or not, the view of forums for each and every individual member. Same holds true for posting pics, etc.

So my suggestion is that if you Lance or any admin just checks out the permissions individually for Mario and I (In your admin's panel) I suspect that our settings in terms of what we can view and do are not at the global defaults. Another way to say this is that the admins may be able to just change the settings for us and let us in. If it was a software issue for the developers more people would be having this issue and they are not. So I think that it's a settings issue. Maybe it's my breath.....

Many thanks - looking forward to getting out of jail here.....

Mario and others I just reregistered and it all seems to work for me now. Perhaps once the fixes are made our old screen names will work but until then if you reregister you will be able to see the forums and post away.

I hope this helps.

I'm having the same issues, as I reported earlier this afternoon on the forum...We shouldn't have to re-register, as this will lose all our history, etc. I'm not even sure if that's a bad thing or not, but it shouldn't be necessary...

Mario, I know what that ment, I guess I am just a little but confused why you would make such a mean comment when we are only 16 hours in to a new system and are bustin butt to get the bugs fixed. Personaly I see no help in your mean spirited way.

I couldn't change password etc using the first password I received, but as I'm a brit and so many hours ahead of most of you guys I figured it would all sort itself out in time. But when I fired up the computer this evening, I recieved another e-mail with a new password, logging in with that and everything is tickety-boo.

Hesh and Mario can't get in eh! Do I smell conspiracy?

Colin

Heh and I just edited this!

Just to add another data point, I'm having trouble logging in too.
I get logged in just fine, but then it shows a message that there are no forums to view.
Odd.
Since I mostly just lurk here anyway, I may just re-register.

Oh, and other than the login weirdness, the new site seems great!

I was having trouble staying logged on my computer. My computer would kick me off even though it said I was logged on at the bottom of the site's page. I deleted all cookies, history and Temp files and things seem to be working. I hope everyone just keeps a cool head. Lance and Brock you guys are great and all here really know that, please don't take any of this to heart. Your work is much appreciated by all, even if some don't seem to be acknowledging it.
Hang in there it will get better.

I'm having the same issues as you guys. I've received two emails with different passwords in them. They both worked but I couldn't do anything when I was logged in with either of them. I'm sure L/B will have it sorted out soon, don't worry peeps!

One thing I notice with the OLF down is how dependant I have become on it for information in just a couple of weeks of being a member!! It's a testament to all the great minds and expertise of the luthfolk who hang out here and help noobieluths like me - THANKS GUYS!!! :D

I just tried deleting cookies, etc. before using the new login and it is still failing. :( I've asked to be sent a new login through the other thread, so I'll wait and see what shows up in my Yahoo account.

I do stuff like this for a living so I understand the issues. From what I'm seeing as guest this will be a positive change for the forum.

I know they are still working on the forum, and all of the issues I had have been resolved now. I have been able to change my password, edit my signature, and I can now upload pictures to the forum also.

Thanks for all of the hard work guys!

Hmmmm. Can't figure out where in the control panel to change my password. I'm probably blind - can anyone point me in the right direction?
