Anyone use these, 249 bucks, are they any good? Other recommendations? What about a hard-wired one in the guitar eliminating the external jack? Bruce TIA

Our praise team uses them Bruce...they're great! Our leader got one, and so I bought one a while later...liked it so much I bought our acoustic player one and he bought our bass guy one! Look on eBay for boyntonproaudio...he's selling them new in the box for $149...great guy to work with!

I used to have a NADY version when I was playing in bands regularly and I must say they are great when working properly. They eat a lot of batteries and probably won't last near the 11 hours advertised. Once in awhile we'd get some interference but I'm guessing the newer ones have more frequencies to choose from and fewer problems. There was always a slight delay that bothered me but again, these newer ones may have solved that problem. If you need to be free and cordless on the stage, I think they're a good option. If cables are an option, I would use those first unless there was a good reason for not being able to use them.

Can you say more about why you'd like to have a wireless system?

Though I've never tried it with a wireless, I plugged a Monster Cable
straight into my recording interface, recorded a clip, and did the same
with a sample of higher quality cable from lavacable.com. The difference
was night and day---and unfortunately proved me wrong that cable
doesn't make a difference. So I picked up a couple Sommer Spirit's from
Lava. The price was reasonable enough without getting into the
ridiculous realm. I've never tried it with wireless, but I wonder how
degraded the sound would be if even Monster Cable makes it all muddy.

I ask you to say more about why you want one because the guitar player
at church uses a wireless to make up the whopping five feet between him
and the amp he plops in front of my bass drum (I'm the sunday morning
drummer). He thinks it's fun to walk down the aisle during rehearsal, but
it feeds back all the time and interferes with the wireless lapels the
pastors wear.       

I would make sure you can return whichever system you use after testing
it out, just in case it doesn't meet your satisfaction.

I think it all depends on the application...our church is very energetic and cables get in the way...it's funny...I loved the old belt-pack NADY I had in the band days of 79-84...it was inefficient, noisy, full of "dead spot" issues, but it was wireless so it was COOL! The guitar bug has not given us one problem so far...and the battery life seems pretty good...we replace them before they completely die, but I'd say 9 hrs. is not out of the question...don't know about the 11 advertised tho...

Cordless Mics are a mainstay now for any presenter.

I went to a concert and the friend Andy, playing his Tele, sported one of these.

Changing the subject to the cables Monster vs. Lava, that was pretty interesting. You wouldn't think there would be that much difference.

I like to shop on Amazon.com because of all the feedback ratings. It helps a novice be guided toward good product. This GuitarBug got a 88.5% Rating, which is excellent. A cheaper version and different brand only garnered 60%.

The wife wasn't interested in coughing up the 249 for one of these, while the $49 one was in her price range. We skipped both and went with a triple Mic Behringer pack with cables. Ratings were wonderful for those.
