I have searched the forums including the archives, OLF Video Page, Sound Salon...

Lance did a nice video showing his technique for cutting shell (abalone) strips. Does anyone know where that video can be found?

Thanks,

Dennis

Dennis, go to Sound Salon at the top of the page.  The shell cutting stuff is there.

The videos are embedded in the inlay tutorials.

Thanks, Waddy, but I'm not looking for the inlaying stuff right now, I'm looking for the video where Lance shows his jig and technique for making shell strips.

Dennis

These may not be the ones you are thinking about, though.  I just remembered them from a visit there.

Here is one thread that Lance started, but D.L.Huskey showed his little sawing setup for cutting shell.  I found it by searching for "cutting abalone".  There are some other threads there too.  Try "cutting mop" or "cutting m.o.p." too.  You might get some more hits.

Waddy! Considering your link leads to "http://" I guess it's... technically... correct, but not very specific!

How big is the cost advantage of cutting your own strips?
