There is a valid reason for recommending that all in their 60's and older should get the flu vaccine. When you are 61( and unfortunately, also a smoker) the flu easily slides into pneumonia- it is scary. So, I am back on my feet and will be shipping Swap items. I had appeal work that had no provision for extensions of time, even though I was quite ill. I pretty much struggled through those, but used myself up physically and mentally. So, as long as the folks still want these items, I will send out Monday. I am sorry to have let all of you down. My highest regards to all.mt

Mike, I know exactly what you are talking about and you don't have to be a smoker to arrive at the same place you were.  I got pneumonia last year and it really knocks you out.  I've never had a pulmonary-involved cold or flu, ever, and got this out of the blue. It's nasty.  I'm also considering the pneumonia vaccine, I don't ever want to go through that again.  All this coming from a guy who fights kidney stones on a regular basis, that's how bad the pneumonia can hit you.  Take care, folks, it's a thin line between  health and illness.

Thanks David, great to be here.  Wonderful group of people who seem to like to share ideas and help those of us who need it.  I appreciate being a part of this forum.

Hi Mike,

Good to see you back in the forum. No apologies are needed. I still want all of my purchases and I got my flu shot last week.

I'm guessing that you were given Levoquin as an antibiotic....not sure if the warning label is still the same, but you really need to wait at LEAST 1 month (preferably longer) before partaking in any alcohol...the warning used to say 2 weeks...I followed that, and according to my doctor that interaction with the drug was most likely the cause for some very serious gastro-intestinal problems I had....
