Hi folks, thank you so much in advance for your help. I have put together an electric guitar and am now working on the CBS strat style neck. The one thing I cannot figure out is how exactly I am supposed to pinpoint the spot for the string retainers - a set of two roller t's -- for strings 1-4. Any knowledge or advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much!

All best,

Ian

1. Look at Net photos.

2. Measure a real one.

3. Install the tuners and nut and strings. Install them in their obvious positions.

Ian, Never give up.

I only use one tree on the first two strings.  I locate it across from the fifth string tuner. I drill the hole after stringing, but before tuning up. Leave strings slightly loose, place the tree on the two strings push it down and scribe/awl a mark for the drill hole. I compensate for the break angle on the third and fourth strings by winding more string on the tuner. IMHO - Tremolo and bending work have better chance of staying in tune without the second tree, especially considering the wound fourth string.
