FYI
Ervin has had no problem with me posting what I did.
Rick, your points are well said and I agree with you COMPLETELY.

Lets get back to helping each other build better guitars. There is a ton to learn here. Especially from someone such as yourself with your years of experience. When you and Carruth post it is like I am slamming on my brakes to read what you have to say. You both deserve that kind of respect.

I will in the future just post what I think is helpful to the group. Most here know who took ES's course and who has not. I only made the post "Post Ervin" because it was requested for a top to be posted in such a manner. I have nothing to hide about the tops and have answered all questions related to it. I think some have learned from the thread despite its decline.   ES is a true gentleman and is WAY above all of the battles. He let me know yesterday that he would EXPECT us to show us our latest work. He just didn't want me to post one of his personal guitars.

There is such a HUGE misconception about what Ervin has requested from us, so I will quote him directly. I feel he deserves having the truth posted. Most comments about what he has requested are actually way off based.

Here is what he said to me yesterday.

"I repeat: unless anyone puts something like a transcript of one of my lectures up on the web, or in a discussion forum, and unless someone puts photographs of my guitar innards there . . . it's not a problem for me for people to post images of their own latest work. It's nice to get credit if credit is due . . . but you're showing your own work. Why wouldn't you?! If somebody can learn something from it, great. If they want to learn more, they might be directed to my class."

We are here to share....that is why I post.

Lance and Brock
I dont know what to say about the other matter at hand - I havent read the posts and have no idea what transpired.. and I am happy to be clear of that fray.

My only contribution to this matter is a suggestion:

At another forum I am part of the "Edit" feature only works until there is a post that follows the post that is to be edited - then the feature is disabled..
Does this make sense>?
you can only edit your post until there is a following post.. then your not able to edit any longer.
there that might be easier to understand..
This way people cant go back and edit out poisonous barbs that have been responded to ...
but spelling/grammatical errors and revisions/omissions would be able to be effected by the original poster.

Cant you make this limitation, part of the "Edit" feature with this software Lance and Brock?
or mabye at the new site?

It would certainly seem to eliminate the problem you had with the Edit button would it not?
But it would allow those who wished to use it responsibly to have it for thier purpose,
I hope this helps.. and potentially be a solution for the "Edit" feature dilemna
Cheers
Charlie

This post is not about the edit button.

The edit feature will be part of the NEW OLF. There will be a 20 minute window in which to edit your post. That feature has been tested and is ready for prime time!

NOW back to this post,
Once again, it would do my heart good to see this thing
fall of the page, and the only way that can happen is if we stop posting to it.
There has been very little gained by the additional (This is what I think) posts.

So, please, let it die.
Thanks.
