Hey Martin,

Some Aussie servers are grey listed by some of the major USA servers and mail gets rejected as spam, I think optus is one. But you usually get a return error message telling you this has happened after a few days, this can be really annoying.

Cheers

Hi Kim,

Grey listing works by holding an incoming mail for an hour or so and then
dumping it if the mail isnt re-sent by the source server. I have this feature
setup on my incoming mail server. My outgoing server is with internode and
my email should get re-sent if it doesnt get acknowledgement that the mail
has been received by Chris's server.

Cheers Martin

FWIW....I too wrote Chris an email a few weeks ago looking to purchase a binding rig and never heard back from him....I now wonder if he ever received it, I'll try again.

Thanks for the info Greg. Ive resent my last email via a different server.

Sounds to me like Chris is either having problems with his mail server or hes
either just busy or away on holidays or something. Would sure like to get my
hands on the binding cutting base soon so I can stuck back into the 12
string project.

Does anybody have a phone number for Chris?

Cheers Martin

I second calling him.

I can't say enough good things about Chris and his tools. Totally top shelf and a great guy too.

Don't known what Internode have set up Martin but when I was with Optus, one of Aussies biggest ISP's, I would get Grey out returns messages from time to time.

Just seems to be some problems of late with email because I am now with iinet and just recently have had problems with recipients in the USA receiving nothing and me not receiving any error message. This is the most annoying as you remain unaware that a problem in the communication has occurred.

Cheers

Kim

Okay we have a happy ending to this saga.

Bob, I set myself up with a hotmail account and emailed Chris via same and
got an immediate response (he does answer his emails fast!).

My emails to Chris were getting through but his emails havent even been
reaching my mail server. Dont know whats going on there, Chris's emails
dont even appear on my servers greylist.

Anyway thanks Bob and thanks to all others who assisted with my problem.

Cheers Martin
